ATCS Welcomes Brian Riffel as Vice President – Baltimore Operations Manager, Corporate Design Discipline Lead

 

ATCS is excited to welcome Brian as Vice President – Baltimore Operations Manager, Corporate Design Discipline Lead. Brian brings over 25 years of roadway, transit, bicycle and pedestrian experience focusing on all project phases, including studies, planning, preliminary design, final design, development of final contract documents and construction support services. His experience includes major interstate improvements, tolling facilities, dualization and reconstruction of major arterial roadways, capacity and safety improvements on a wide range of roadway systems, commuter and light rail transit improvements, multi-use trails and park improvements.

Throughout his career, Brian has managed several high-profile, multi-billion-dollar projects. In the past ten years, he has focused on alternative project delivery for both highway and rail transit projects. With strong working relationships with MDOT State Highway Administration, MDOT Maryland Transit Administration, Maryland Transportation Authority, DDOT, Montgomery County, Prince George’s County, Howard County, Baltimore County, Carroll County, Cecil County, and Baltimore City, Brian will play an instrumental role in growing our Baltimore operations. In addition, he will be focusing on building a cohesive roadway engineering team throughout our organization.

Brian earned a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of New York at Buffalo. He is a licensed professional engineer in Maryland, the District of Columbia and Texas.

When Brian is not watching his children’s sporting events, his interests include barbecue, cornhole, golf, hiking and cycling.

Bobby Turner joins ATCS as Construction Manager/Project Manager in our Northern Virginia Region

BOBBY TURNERPlease welcome Bobby Turner, Construction Manager/ Project Field Manager

Bobby spent 10 years with the Virginia Department of Transportation as a materials technician and later as Concrete Supervisor, where
he oversaw the production and placement of asphalt and concrete, provided technical advice to project inspectors, and performed proficiency exams for materials certifications.
With over 20 years of construction management experience, Bobby has an extensive background that spans across almost every aspect
of roadway, bridge, and light rail construction. He recently managed projects with a concrete supplier on road and bridge projects throughout the east coast.
Bobby enjoys learning new aspects of the construction field and is eager to contribute to the success of the ATCS team.

Allder School Road Phase II Project Ground Breaking Ceremony

ATCS’ Construction Services Operations Manager, Gregg Newhouse, PE and Senior Inspector, Karen Marstiller attended the Allder School Road Phase II project Ground Breaking ceremony this Tuesday July 25, to mark the start of construction of improvements to Allder School Road, from Woodgrove Road (Route 719) to Hillsboro Road (Route 690) in western Loudoun. Representing Loudoun County, VA, ATCS is providing on-site construction inspection services for the project though the Loudoun County Construction Support Services On-Call contract.

Brennan Collier elected on VTCA’ Engineering Consultant Leadership Committee (ECLC)

B.Collier1Please join us in congratulating Brennan Collier, Vice President and South Regional Manager, for her election to VTCA’s ECLC. Brennan Will Start her three year term in July 2017.

Ms. Collier brings 20 years of environmental compliance experience in the transportation industry, holding previous roles with state and federal governments and consulting in Northern Virginia.

Ms. Collier is a Certified Instructor for FHWA’s National Highway Institute and has taught the ‘NEPA and the Transportation Decision-Making Process’ course across the country for the past 10 years, training nearly 700 transportation professionals on environmental compliance issues.

Ms. Collier holds a Bachelor of Arts in Geology and a Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies – “Environmental Science from George Mason University”

ATCS Rides 2017 Tour de Cure

Our D’s Bees riders, family and friends gathered in Reston, VA for the Annual Tour De Cure ride in support of the American Diabetes Association to find a cure for those affected by diabetes.
With the help of our 12 riders and over 25 participants from our offices, ATCS raised $6,000.00.

“This was a great opportunity for us to support our colleagues and their family members affected by diabetes. ATCS strongly supports being involved in the community and being an active participant to create change and find a cure for diabetes.” said John DePasquale, PE, Vice President of Transportation Services.
