ATCS Welcomes Haitham Hijazi, PhD, PE, LS as Vice President, Operation Manager of the Largo, MD Office

Haitham brings over 32 years of experience in the engineering and land surveying industry. He previously managed a private engineering and surveying consulting company in Adelphi, Maryland. Haitham later spent over 25 years serving in several leadership roles in Prince George’s County Government, first at the County’s Department of Public Works and Transportation (DPW&T) and then at the Department of Permitting, Inspection and Enforcement (DPIE). At DPW&T, he directed and was responsible for as many as 450 employees and strove to ensure the highest degree of public service in the County’s public roadway system, public transit systems, and storm drainage infrastructure. Haitham was then tapped by former County Executive Baker to develop and lead DPIE to consolidate the County’s permitting, inspection, and enforcement processes that were scattered across over seven agencies and offices into a one-stop center.

Haitham holds a bachelor, master, and doctorate degrees in civil engineering with a focus in structural engineering. He is a licensed professional civil engineer, and a professional land surveyor.

Haitham is a long-time resident of Prince George’s County and his proudest achievement to date was creating a Community Partners Program in Prince George’s County where he and other local government officials held quarterly meetings with all county civic associations, active citizens, homeowner associations, and constituents in a forum open to the public to address their concerns and provide direct citizen access to government officials and services.

ATCS Opens New Office in Largo, MD

ATCS is expanding its footprint in Prince George’s County to meet current and future planned growth.

Herndon, VA, January 16th, 2019 – ATCS, a professional consulting firm, announced the opening of its new office in Largo, MD which will strengthen the firm’s partnerships and present greater opportunities to meet the increasing needs of clients throughout the region.

“The decision to expand our footprint and open an office in Prince George’s County was a logical step in our business growth strategy,” said Young Ho Chang, President. “We believe the future is strong for Prince George’s County and with Dr. Haitham Hijazi, we are poised to serve our clients well”

ATCS Welcomes Sherri Huntley, SPHR, SHRM-CP as Vice President of Human Resources

Sherri brings over two decades of talent management and human resources (HR) experience to ATCS. She previously held executive human resources roles with Booz Allen Hamilton,  Raytheon, CH2M Hill and the Virginia Department of Transportation, overseeing positive employee experience and increasing attraction and retention of differentiated talent.

Sherri offers extensive experience across a wide range of HR disciplines allowing her to successfully leverage her expertise in working with stakeholders. She is adept at evaluating talent management business challenges, driving engagement, championing employee satisfaction and building ongoing and effective solutions. Sherri has proven success in applying her human resource knowledge and business acumen to articulate business cases, while serving as an internal consultant to business and account leaders.

In this role, Sherri will be responsible for delivering overall strategic leadership to ATCS for human resource initiatives including performance management, talent development, recruitment, compensation, benefits, and employee relations to cultivate a high-performance culture of engaged employees.

Sherri earned her B.S. in Political Science from East Tennessee State University, and an M.S. degree in Human Resource Management from Chapman University. She is a member of the Society of Human Resource.

In her free time, Sherri enjoys traveling to new and interesting locations.

ATCS Welcomes Jason Kacamburas, PE, CCM, DBIA as Office Manager of our Herndon, VA Office

ATCS is excited to announce that Jason Kacamburas, PE, CCM, DBIA has joined the firm as Office Manager – Herndon, VA.

As the new Herndon Office Manage, Jason brings 18 years of program and project management experience, overseeing various transportation and infrastructure projects throughout the Mid-Atlantic region. He has extensive experience in project controls, specifically in Critical Path Method (CPM) scheduling, construction cost estimating, and construction and maintenance claims analysis. His expertise covers project experience with design build, design bid build and locally administered projects. Jason also brings wide-ranging experience in project record management and contract administrative duties including budget, financial tracking and monthly reporting.

Jason is responsible for managing and leading traffic engineering and planning, transportation design, environmental, construction services and project control teams in the greater Northern Virginia area. He provides project and program management support, strategic business planning and leading marketing and business development efforts throughout the region.

Jason holds a BS in Civil Engineering from Tufts University, is a member of DBIA, ASCE and CMAA and actively involved in regional chapters.

ATCS Welcomes Tamir Sherif as Chief Financial Officer

ATCS is excited to announce that Tamir Sherif has joined the firm as Chief Financial Officer.

As Chief Financial Officer, Tamir brings over 26 years of broad Financial and Treasury experience, as well as IT, Procurement and Engineering acumen. Having progressively held senior positions at General Motors, Dell, Whirlpool, Capital One and most recently as the CFO for Retail Data, LLC., Tamir adds new depth to ATCS. His background includes significant business process and finance transformation accomplishments, as well as major program delivery in high growth environments. He has been directly involved in domestic and overseas acquisitions, integrations and partnerships, technology outsourcings and the formation of joint ventures. Tamir has multi-national banking and treasury experience in addition to controller roles.

Tamir is responsible for the management and direction of the firm’s Accounting and Finance functions, Information Technology, Human Resources, Capital Facilities and Fleet Management teams.

He holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from Queen’s University in Kingston, Canada and an MBA in Finance from The Ivey Business School in London, Canada.
