ATCS specializes in the integration of transportation and land use planning. From modeling of alternative development scenarios to the analysis of the traffic impacts associated with development scenarios, ATCS can provide complete site services to develop the interface between all urban elements including: roadway treatments; curb-and-gutter; walkways and sidewalk plantings; street art and furniture; transit, bicycle and pedestrian amenities; context-sensitive solutions; signage and wayfinding; lighting; and parking.

Complementing the understanding of adding new streets to a network, ATCS has technical expertise in analyzing the impacts of such changes on existing traffic. ATCS possesses traffic engineering staff that is experienced in applying Synchro, VISSIM, and manual/spreadsheet tools to quantify the traffic impacts producing performance measures such as congestion levels (LOS and CLV), intersection delay, and travel time. ATCS also uses multi-modal performance measures to capture the impact/improvement to pedestrians, bicycles, and transit service.
