With over two decades of experience in stormwater and floodplain related projects, ATCS’ professionals are adept at balancing the technical, regulatory, and financial issues that arise as part of complex Water Resources projects.
ATCS offers innovative solutions to solve a diverse range of water resources challenges. We focus on helping our clients effectively adapt to and comply with new regulatory drivers like the Chesapeake Bay Total Maximum Daily Load (TMDL) requirements. Whether a project is the result of a new development, a redevelopment or a retrofit, ATCS engineers know how to select the right Best Management Practices (BMPs), design implementable and cost-effective solutions, and efficiently see those solutions through permitting, bidding and construction phases.
Supported by our expert modelers and GIS capabilities our engineers can address a broad range of projects from roadway and neighborhood drainage upgrades to regional and watershed-wide flood management and water quality improvement master plans. We integrate a depth of knowledge in environmental and resilience planning, land development and transportation design and construction management to provide holistic water resources solutions to our clients.
Our staff also has extensive experience supporting FEMA’s National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) in performing watershed-based Risk MAP studies for both riverine and coastal hazards. We offer full spectrum capabilities for hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, coastal wave/runup, floodplain delineation, production of Flood Insurance Rate Maps (FIRMs), and development of non-regulatory flood risk products. Our expertise extends to the four components of the NFIP: floodplain mapping, floodplain management, flood mitigation and flood insurance.
